The final call found tlie markets active anil prices firm- In the Government section there was little change, but a sale of Drainage Board debentures at £108 it)/ showed a good demand for fixed return issues. In the banking section Commercials had steady business at 16/9 and 16/10, with buyers at the higher price. Commercial of Sidney sold yesterday at ±.18 J/o and had buyers at £18 4/6. Dalgety s had business and buyers at £8 j/, sellers £8 8/. Refrigerating were easier, with buyers at £1 0/4 and sellers at £1 0/10. Partly paid were unchanged. Buyers offered £- 13/3 for New Zealand Breweries. Staples were easier, with sellers at £ 1 15,3 and buyers £1 14/. Carltons were in firm demand at £2 11/0. For Australian Glass offers of £3 11/6, yesterday's price, met | a selling quote of £3 12/3. Offers tor Claude Neons (New Zealand ami bydney) had a firming trend. Dunlops were again down, with sellers at 15/10 and buyers 15/ G. Kauris were firmer. Buyers offered £1 2/ and sellers asked 3d more. In mining. Big Rivers were easier, with sales and sellers at 2/.
