DAIRY INDUSTRY.
KAITIEKE DAIRIES. IMPROVED RETURNS. The 24th annual report of the directors of the Kaitieke Co-operative Dairy Company for the year ended May 31. states that: '•Another year of unrcniunerative prices has been experienced, but the substantial rise in recent months has made the further payment by way of bonus larger than usual, with the result that the final returns show an improvement over the preceding year. Production has declined by 40 tons and is in line with most dairying districts, although the percentage reduction is less than the Dominion average. The total manufacture was 79(1 tons.
"There is available for further payment the sum of £10.554 10 'Hi which will enable a distribution of l%d per lb over the whole season's supply to be made. Payment of '/id per lb was made on June 27 and the balance of lV4d will be available early in August. This will bring the average payment for butterfat lor all grades to 9.03 d, and with cream cartage and railage added to 9.585 d. The quality of butter, both export and local, has been well maintained."
The retiring directors, Messrs. Geo. Siswick and A. W. King, arc nominated for re-election.
