TWO WHITE GIRLS.

PALMERSTON NORTH RAID. WHAT DETECTIVES FOUND. (By Telegraph.—l'rcss Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. The discovery of two white girls which was made by the police during a raid upon premises occupied by two Chinese laundrymen in Main Street was related by Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike in the Magistrate's Court, when Ilong Kee, aged -10, and Charlie Kee, aged (>7, were charged with having been found in possession of prepared opium. Two pipes and a quantity of opiumsmoking material were produced in Court. The detective stated that, with another detective and a constable lie visited accused's premises, made a search and found all equipment necessary for the smoking of opium.
"The pla.ee was pretty well barricaded and was full of opium smoke," said the detective, "but the worst feature is that two young girls wore living there at the time. It is not suggested that they were smoking, but both were destitute. One was subsequently arrested 011 a charge of vagrancy." C< mplaints had been made that white girls had visited the premises.
Accused wore each fined £25 and the smoking equipment was confiscated.
