BOROUGH ENGINEER,
WHANGAREI APPOINTMENT. (By TclegrnnTt.-—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Borough Council got a step further forward towards the appointment of a borough engineer last night. At a special meeting, held in committee, the 70 applications were narrowed down to six, one of whom has been called on for a personal interview. It is expected that the appointment will shortly be announced.
