Australian Representatives in The Toowoomba Side.
HAYES, HITTER, BIRMINGHAM
(Received 1.30 p.m.) BRISBANE, this day. The Toowoomba side to meet the Maoris on July 17 will be selected from the following: — Backs: R. Meihusch, L. Garthe, W. Bush, R. McDonald, M. Thome, K. Robertson, T. Hogg, L. Ingram, E. Hayes (captain). Forwards: T. Green, V. Birmingham, S. Tuck, E. Browne, C. Lavers, J. Newman, C. Bourne, J Gibbs, K. Kelly, J. Ritter, J. Gallagher. Hayes, Ritter and Birmingham are Australian representatives, while Green is the "rake," who forced Bonis to be dropped from the Queensland team earlier this season, for the first time since 1929. The weather still- is cyclonic, with heavy showers. The ground at Warwick is bound to bo heavy for the opening match on Wednesday. On arrival this afternoon the Maoris will be tendered a civic welcome. Tomorrow morning will be spent at the station of Mr. J. 11. S. Barnes, where many of Queensland's greatest race : horses have been bred. After the match the team will be entertained at a ball.
