"COMING-OUT " DANCE.

AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION,

A very delightful coming-out dance was given on Saturday night by Mrs. James Hodgson, sen., at her lovely home, "Holbeck," Shelly Beach Road, Heme Bay, in honour of her .grand-daughters, Betty and Joan Hodgson. The billiard room, which had boon decorated with fairy lights, greenery, balloons and streamers, presented a most attractive scene for the dancing. Refreshments were served on the verandah, which had been canvassed in and decorated in the same way. The scheme of flood-lighting the garden proved.most effective. The spacious dining room, adorned in shades of p;nk and silver, was used as a supper room. * Music was supplied by Trevor Eady's Orchestra. After supper, Mr. Joe Johnston, in a witty speech, congratulated the twins on their "coming out/' s.nd on behalf of the guests wished them every success. r Mrs. G. Hodgson, Betty and Joan received the guests in the vestibule. The twins were wearing frocks of white taffeta and tulle, with full skirts and silver lame petals in five rows from the waist to the hem; each also wore a brown and white fur cape, and carried a silver fan of pale pink sweet peas. Mrs. G. Hodgson wore wine velvet, with a sash lined with gold lame. Mrs. James Hodgson was wearing beaded black georgette, and Mrs. Athol Hodgson, black georgette; with an ermine cape. Among the guests were: —Mesdames Parkes, McClatchie, Stan Heighway, Edmond Heighway, Worstfold, Self, A.
