TRENTHAM TRACKS.

YESTERDAY'S TRIALS. CROUPIER'S EXCELLENT EFFORT. ISAACS AND EEIPAR. With very few additional arrivals from outside centres tlie work at Trentham yesterday morning bad very little to offer in the way of interest. The weather was fine though dull, and the trial grass track was in the best order it has been for the past few weeks. The outside steeplechase course was also open for the first time, but only one horse went over the country. The only new horses on the scene are Spalpiko, who came clown from Dannevirke immediately after winning the hurdles on .Wednesday, and J. O. E. Jones' five, Revision, Miladi, Korero, Imasuryey and Isaacs, who arrived on Tuesday evening. Spalpiko was one of the first to work, but he was confined to a round of pacing. He looks well, but may be a little light. His success on Wednesday was not expected. Miladi (C. Burgess) and Korero (J. McCatiley) did a couple of rounds and sprinted home the last three furlongs, Miladi finishing half a length in front in 38s. Both horses are in good nick, but Korero has been sore and his trip was in doubt till the last minute. However, on the better track, Korero seemed to hit out well enough yesterday morning. W. E. Pine rides Korero and S. Anderson j Miladi in the Whyte Handicap, in which the pair will race in different interests. Isaacs (C. Burgess) and Reipar (J. W. Jenkins) for a mate over six furlongs, but the latter won easily in 1.23, the last halfmile in 56s —not very good time. Isaacs still seems unable to control his gallop, and he changed his stride in the straight, but this present disability did not prevent his winning his last three races. He is a j big, handsome chestnut who may develop good class later on. His trainer was not the least concerned about his showing yesterday morning, as he said he is a colt who keenly notices anything that is strange to him. Revision (C. Burgess) find Imasurvey (W. Shand) joined Kia Tina (E. Burgess) in a bout over five fences, and they all t jumped with pace full on. Revision, driven into her fences, was . first over the last hurdle, but Kia Tina's exhibition of jumping was the most satisfying. Imasurvey was inclined to rush his fences and rapped the last two hard. Revision and Imasurvey will be ridden by G. Ridgway next week, and E. Burgess will be on Kia Tina, who is a very promising novice at the game. Sunee Goes Fast. Sunee (Jenkins), having his first gallop for some time, ran half a mile on the faster sand in 49%5, a good effort, but he is not engaged at the Wellington meeting. His stable mate Red Sun (F. Thompson) went out to jump the hurdles alone, but he balked twice and was not persevered with. He appeared tied up, and this may have been the trouble. Croupier (S. Wilson) again had Orapai (J. McCauley) for a mate over five furlongs, and, waiting on this occasion, he caught Orapai in. the last furlong and beat him by half a length in 1.3 4-5, the last half mile in 50 1-os. This was another excellent effort by the Surveyor stallion, and he will' be unlucky not. to collect some stake money next week Wotan (R. Smith) was going better than Gate Crasher (W. Collins) at the end of three furlongs in 375. Debham (J. Forsyth) beat Mon-gli (N. Vaughan) by half a length over five furlongs in 1.7, the last half mile in 535. Dollar Bill sharpened up down the straight, and so did Manurewa. Lycidas (F. E. Ingram) did a couple of rounds of pacing. Arctic King (McCauley) was four lengths ahead of Youssipof (Jenkins) at at the end of half a mile in 525. Princess Doreen (Vaughan) comfortably beat Pegged Exchange (Shand) over six furlongs, the last half mile in 545. Delysia (Collins) ran six furlongs at three-quarter pace. Billy Boy, looking well, did a couple of rounds, running the last half mile in 565. Verden easily beat Kia Tina (after the latter's school) over a mile, the last half in 555. Might (Wilson) was always going too well for Palm (Shand) over a mile in 1.51, the last half mile in 50s. Diamond (R. Smith) had the honour of being the first horse over the steeplechase course proper, but he did not jump too well alone. He made a good leap at the eodwall, but was bothered with the two following boards, finishing up at the brush near the half-mile.
