PRESENTATIONS.
At the relief workers' clubrooms, Onehunga, last evening, the president, Mr. J. P. Boland, made a presentation of a travelling rug and fountain pen, on behalf of the members, to the Rev. Thornley, Congregational minister, who i 6 leaving the district. The chairman said that the unemployed would greatly miss Mr. Thornley for hie untiring efforts on their behalf while a resident of the town. Several other speakers referred in glowing terms of his good work in the interests of the- women and children, irrespective o£ creed or claes. Mr. Thornley, in reply, said he would value the gifts above all others he had received. To mark their appreciation of his services as secretary for many years, Mr. J. E. Cowell was presented by the Onehunga Bowling Club at its annual meeting with an ink stand having a bowl on each side and a white kitty in the centre, also a valuable pipe and tobacco pouch.
