The reputation of the. Sea of Galilee ( for sudden, furious storms has lasted from New Testament times. Imperial ill-ways used to have a night stoppingplace in the Galilee district for their liners to India. The liners were pegged I down on the landing ground, but it was ■ found that the sudden storms would tear them from even the strongest moorings. The route has had to be changed, and the stopping-place is now Ramleh.
