PONSONBY CROQUET.
A most enjoyable afternoon was spent in the Farmers' reception room last week when the Ponsonby Croquet Club held a bridge and five hundred afternoon. The president, Mrs. Aitchison, welcomed the guests, and presented prizes to the following: Bridge, Mrs. Snedden; hidden number, Mrs. F. E. Bell; five hundred, Mrs. Kennett. Among those present were: Mesdames Aitchison, Torrence, Adams, Snedden, Hilton, Maud, Kiddy, Chaney, Farmer, Wakeman, Slane, J. H. Todd, A.
