PONSONBY CROQUET.
A most enjoyable afternoon was spent in the Farmers' reception room last week when the Ponsonby Croquet Club held a bridge and five hundred afternoon. The president, Mrs. Aitchison, welcomed the guests, and presented prizes to the following: Bridge, Mrs. Snedden; hidden number, Mrs. F. E. Bell; five hundred, Mrs. Kennett. Among those present were: Mesdames Aitchison, Torrence, Adams, Snedden, Hilton, Maud, Kiddy, Chaney, Farmer, Wakeman, Slane, J. H. Todd, A. Bell, White, Kennett, Nordern, Haytor, Hopwood, Colthurst, Cleal, Grant, Frieberg, H. Jones, E. Baker, A. Foster, Lonergan, W. Thomson, Wright, K. Davey, Furnell, Chapman, Reynolds, E.
