LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

PONSONBY. The annual fathers* night was held oil Saturday. Mrs. S. O. English presided over an attendance of about 200 members, fathers and friends. Representatives from Mount Eden and Grey Lynn were present. Mr. D. M. Rae, principal of Auckland Training College, gave an address on "Youth and To-mor-row." Mr. Rae, who has just returned from a world tour, outlined the forms of education, and what Was being done to help the unemployed in the different countries he has visited. During the evening pianoforte and vocal solos were rendered by Mrs. Reqf Reed and Mrs. de Berg, and elocutionary items by Madame Maisie Carte-Lloyd. The artists were presented with bouquets. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, on behalf of the fathers, proposed a vote of thanks to the ladies, and supper was served.

MOUNT ROSKILL. The Mount lioskill League of Mothers held its monthly meeting recently. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Brown took the chair, and also gave the thought. A fine address by Mrs. Crane on diet and health was much enjoyed by members. Afternoon tea and a competition closed the afternoon. THIRD REMUERA. Mrs. P. D. Wright, president of the third Remuera branch of the League oi Mothers, welcomed visitors, future members and members to the meetings, held on the fiist Thursday of every month at the North Memorial Church Hall, Remuera Road. The speaker was Mrs. Whyte, Auckland provincial lion, secretary, and Mrs. Couper gave the thought for the month. The meeting concluded with elocutionary items by Mrs. C. A. Scott, and tea was served by the committee.
