BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT.
REPORTS TO INSTITUTE
At the monthly meeting of the committee of the Real Estate Institute, it was reported that there is an increasing demand For suburban dwellings at higher rents than have been obtainable for some time. It WOB stated that there arc practically no unfurnished houses now available in the better localities.
The following sales were reported: St. Hclier's: Four dwellings, ranging from £2200 to £4000. all for cash; also several building sites. Remucra and Mount Eden: Several sales ranging from £1800 t> £2000. Avondule: A small farm. Otahnhu: Ten sections on the Sturgess estate Other suburban: Eight houses in a (rust estate, and a waterfront section at Heme Bay.
It was stated that several city business firms were extending their premises and taking leases at increased rents, and that there was considerable activity in the suburbs. Generally, it was reported that, the outlook was better than for some time.
