WAR STRAIN AFTERMATH.
SCHOOL PUPILS AFFECTED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MATAMATA, Wednesday. At a meeting of 24 delegates representing nine schools in the Matamata district, Mr. A. M. A. Wright, presiding, a resolution was unanimously carried as follows: "That this meeting considers that war strain undergone by parents has accentuated a situation which should have the immediate attention of the Government, in that a great many children of such parents are suffering keenly as the result of mass teaching methods through not being physically fitted to compete on even terms along the, old lines. This meeting suggests that as a remedy the Government should give urgent consideration to the question of appointing specially-qualified teachers to go from class to class in the larger schools giving a personal touch in "coaching such children."'
