PINNED UNDER HORSE
ACCIDENT TO MR. BROMLEY,
ROUGH TRIP ON WEST COAST

GREYMOUTH, Wednesday.
The deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, Mr. Walter Bromley, narrowly escaped serious' injury this afternoon while riding on a mountainside in a rainstorm along a dangerous track to inspect quartz miners prospecting in the vicinity of Blackball. His horse put its leg through a culvert, and Mr. Bromley was pinned under the animal for five minutes before he could be released. He was uninjured, the horse remaining qniet.
The party, including Mr. P. C. Webb, M.P., continued the; journey afoot, inspecting the Minerva Crossing and Garden Gully mines, which were formerly worked. A favourable impression was gained regarding the prospectors' work, as well as a realisation of the need to improve the means of access. The party returned to Greymouth tonight.
