NEGLIGENT DRIVING.
YOUNG MAN WARNED. "You will lose your license, as you will become a nuisance on the road if you go on like this," said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., to lan' Thomas Laybourne, a single man, aged 23, who pleaded guilty when charged at the Onehunga Police Court this . morning with negligent driving. Sergeant S. A. Brown said Laybourne was a carrier, and when driving a motor van across Mangere Bridge towards OnehuiiKa at 11 p.m. on January 28 he swerved and struck an electric power pole. Laybourne ■ was fined £1 and 16/ costs!j and ordered to pay 15/ to repair the pole. It was when he asked for time to pay, as he was already paying off another line on time \ payment on another charge, that he received the warning from Mr. Hunt. He was allowed three weeks' grace.
