FLOODS TO DROUGHT.
REPORTS IN PROVINCE
* MORE RAIN IS NEEDED
The weather throughout the province is, and has been, strange. In the North there were floods first of all, then a spell of bright, hot weather, and now it is raining again to-day.
Everyone in Auckland is complaining of the oppressive heat. The days are sunny, with an occasional scattered shower at night. It is cooler to-day.
Drought conditions in the Waikato are serious, rain still continues to hold off. The heat is intense. In Waihi the temperature has been the highest since 1924.
Rain has fallen at Te Kuiti and Rotorua, though there, as elsewhere, rain is needed.
