ELECTION OF LORD MAYOR.

SYDNEY, December IS

The newly-elected City Council of Sy.lney has made two unsuccessful attempts to elect a Lord Mayor. On each oc :asion there was a deadlock, the two candidates, Alderman Parker. and .Alderman Jackson each receiving 10 vHcs. Mr. Parker was the former Lord Mayor. It is believed that the Government will take the matter in hand now.
