To Nana'S Friends
Dear Little Ones, — How would you like to set sail across unknown waters in a homemade boat? It would be very thrilling, but not too safe I should n Kj Perhaps it is just as well that Harold Pipkins and his friends are voyaging across the magic Lemonade Sea, in which nothing can sink, for otherwise we might feel anxious about tnem, though no doubt Harold is a very skilful captain. In to-day's story you will see that the explorers actually arrive at the Magic World, and a wonderful city it is. I wish I could live in a castle, don't you? But really I suppose if we cry all day long to be bright and cheerful and make others happy, k iducs
not matter much whether we live in a castle or a tiny wee one-roomed cottage. I have just been looking at some pictures of the two airmen who not so long ago flew the Tasman Sea in quite a small 'plane with only _ one engine in it. They seemed a very jolly pair and made light of the discom- < forts of the trip. There was no one! to welcome them to New Zealand when they arrived from Australia, because they landed on a beach'way up in North Auckland, and the nearest house was ever so far away across a river. These aeroplanes! Peter Pan s star dust seems quite unnecessary now, for if humans want to fly they simply step into a 'plane away they go. • • But even so, you still believe in fairies, don't you little ones? NANA.
