THE WERRIBEE MEETING. UPOKO ARIKI WINS CUP. MELBOURNE, October 24. The New Zealand-bred gelding Upoko Ariki, trained by J. T. Jamieson, was successful at tlin Werribee meeting to-day, winning the Werribee Cup, in which Epigram and Palm Queen were unplaced. Playground, owned by Mr. S. Sievers, was second in the Jumpers' Flat. Result: — WERRIBEE CUP of £200 and trophy valued at £40. Nine furlongs. UPOKO ARIKI (N.Z.-bredi, ch g, 4yrs, by Chief Ruler—Podokes ("Mr. D. M. Ertnin"). 7.11— E. Barfle 1 OOP BIRD (Mr. F. Foulsham), 7.0— H. Morris 2 TAISHO (Mr. 11. E. Vail), B.O—A. Reed 3 Epigram made the pace, but tired. Palm Queen was never dangerous.
