INCORRECT REPORT.
GIRLS NOT LOCATED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. Concerning tho two girls who arc missing in the Ruahine Ranges, a "Manawatu Standard" representative who communicated with Mr. H. Whitehead, a settler of Komako, this morning, was informed that a 'piano was Been to swoop low and circle over a point at the top of the ranges at 0 p.m. yesterday. Subsequently two shots were heard, and it was believed that the girls had been located. Later advice from Mr. Whitehead, however, stated, that the earlier reports were incorrect. A party of thirty at once left for the ranges, prepared to spend the night in nil effort to locate the girls.
