COUNTRY SCOUT RALLY.

ENTHUSIASM AT TE KUITI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, Tuesday. The first scout rally in connection with the new King Country division was celebrated on the local domain on Labour Day. The new troops from the various country districts presented a fine picture as they marched past tlie flag where Commissioner A. V. Windsor took the salute. The cubs from Otorohanga received a special round of applause from the spectators as they gathered round thenlady cubmaster to render their grand howl. Three teams only competed for the Davison Shield, which was won by tne Te Kuiti troop with a total of 323 points. Otorohanga were second with 311 points, and Piopio third with 209 points. The possible was 400. Dr. De Castro judged the ambulance work, while Mr. G. Mitchell had charge of the signalling.

At a conference held after the visiting troops had been entertained to tea by the local scout committee, the district commissioner, Mr. Windsor, presented the shield to the winners. Warrants of commission were also presented to Scoutmaster Drake, Group-Scoutmaster McEwan and assistant Scoutmaster Stuart Ward.
