REJOICINGS AT WAIHI. Presentation of cups won (luring the Rugby season just ended was made at a dance, under the auspices of the Waihi Rugby Union, 011 Monday night. In making the presentations the president. Air. J. McDermott, referred to the increased popularity of Rugby football in Waihi, and attributed it not only to excellent coaching but also to the interest taken by older players. „ He congratulated the Convent Old Boys on winning the senior cup, and Mataura juniors on carrying off the honours for the second season in succession.

Mr. McDermott also referred to the fact ■that Waihi had brought back the Poland Memorial Cup (which it lost last year), defeating Te Aroha. Hauraki Plains and Paeroa representatives.
