MAN FOUND SHOT.
SHAREMILKER'S DEATH. STORY OF A QUARREL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MATAMATA, Tuesday. An inquest concerning the death of Howard Haveloek Green, aged 28 years, a sharemilker employed by Mi". George Knight, of Hinuera, who was found dead on Saturday morning, was held on Sunday.
Deceased was a married man and had been employed by Mr. Knight for only a few weeks. Previously he had been employed by tho New Zealand Herdtesting Association for two years. The body was found under some trees about 100 yards from ill". Knight's house. There was a shotgun wound under tho heart and a string was attached to the trigger of the gun. George Richard Desmond, a farmer, aaid that Green was his son-in-law, and had been employed by his neighbour. After a few words with witness on Friday, deceased had secured a gun but had dropped it, and had struck witness on the face, witness falling down. Before witness could get up, Green stood over him with the gun. Deceased again ordered! witness off the place, and he went. The inquest was adjourned sine die.
