SOCIAL AFTERNOON.

St. George's Women's Society of the Takapuna Presbyterian Church gave a social afternoon yesterday, in aid of funds. The function was held at the residence of Mr. W. N. Rushbrook, Dobson Avenue, the hostesses being Miss M. W. Rushbrook and Mrs. Percy Robertson. A competition was held, the winners being Mrs. GalbraiUi and Mrs. McNeilly. Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Baldwin and Mrs. C. C. Robinson supplied enjoyable musical and elocutionary numbers. At the conclusion, the Rev. N. O. White thanked the hostesses 511 behalf of the guests. Among tliose present were: Mesdames R. Johnston (president), Buchanan, L. Buchanan, P. Robertson. Murdock, R. Walker, Cooper, Trinder, J. Hamilton, G. Howie, Russell, Downard, Downer, Galbraith, Carter, Leyden, T. Hanna, D'Esterre, Raeburu, McDonald, Garlield Stewart.
