(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. The New Zealand golf tournament w being continued to-day, when the fast two °rounds of the professional and amateur championships are being played. The weather is dull and threatening, but the conditions meantime are ideal for golfing, as heavy rain overnight had improved the course considerably. 11l the professional championship Shaw played beautiful golf in his match with Weir, winning 0 and 4. Although he got & splendid two at the fifth, he was one under fours when the match finished at the fourteenth. Moss and J. R. Galloway had a tough tussle. Galloway was two up at the fifth, but Moss squared the game at the ninth and was two up at the twelfth. They halved the rest, Moss thus winning, 2 and 1. Mcintosh in his match with J. A. Clements played steady golf, but took "Long Tom" with a "birdie" four and registered an "eagle" three at the sixteenth, finally winning, 1 up. C. C. Clements beat <J. Lambio by superior putting. Clements was out in 30, to be three up at the turn. On the homeward journey Lambie reduced his leway to one. He was rather unlucky with his long putts, just lipping the hole. Young George Watt was beaten bv A. Murray after a strenuous game, in which the winner had the luck to stymie his opponent at two holes which Watt looked like winning. A real Marathon was fought out between T. S. Galloway and W. He went out in 30, and 011 the homeward journey maintained his good form to finish at the thirteenth, four strokes under fours. Hawortli and Dale staged a great struggle. Hawortli was out in 37, to stand 1 up. Dale squared the game at the twelfth and took the lead at the thirteenth, where Hawortli missed a short putt. Dale was dormy at the seventeenth, but Hawortli took liim to the last green, where his putt to square the game dropped on the edge. The defeat of Horton by Collins (former N.Z. cricket captain) came as rather a surprise. Collins, mainly owing to "birdies" at the , fifth and eighth, was 2up at the turn.
