Fast work at Te Awamutu this morning all carried out on the course proper next to the rails. As the track was in good order, several pleasing task 6 were witnessed, especially that of the Mitcheleon Cup candidate Solarium. Pace tasks were carricd out on the inner plough track. Course Proper. The first out was Jonathan, who, in company with Knight of Australia, placed eix furlongs behind in 1.10. Both were bowling along pleasantly and could have done 'better. Namakia was not troubled to run home from the five-furlong peg in 1.5- Galilee, who continues to work along steadily, was allotted a four-furlong task, which took 51s. Musquil was responsible lor a nice effort when covering half a mile in 50 4-ss. Trishna, with Kurapae on the lead, was galloped seven furlongs, which occupied 1.33. The most pleasing effort seen here for some time wag that of Solarium, who hopped off from the mile and a quarter peg and, bowling along evenlv, completed his work in 2.8 2-5. He covered the first two furlongs in 265, the half mile in 51s, and six furlongs in 1.16. He was assisted over the last , five furlongs by Tualiealie in 1.4%. General Ruse sprinted home from the two-furlong pew in 2&, and the Iliad—Philomela gelding and the Magpie—White Bird colt traversed a like distance in 255.

The well-known sprinter Lucidus, formerly owned by Messrs. Monteith and Willis, and now by Mr. W. Thompson, has joined E. J. Murtagh'e team, but is not yet attending the tracks. Among those doing pace work on the inner tracks was Spalpiko, who is prepared for the Waikato Hunt Club fixture at Cambridge by his owner. Mr. H. Clarke. A. Cook leaves to-day with Jonathan, Knipht of Australia, Namakia, and Galilee. R. E. A. Home will ride On Parade, Versant, and Windscreen, and G. Goulsbro Tradesman.
