ST. HELIER'S CROQUET.
The opening of the St. Hclier's Bnv croquet lawns took place on Saturday afternoon, when a large number of players were welcomed by the president, Mr. Lowe. The lawns were in good order, and the brilliant sunshine helped to make it a very pleasant function. Mrs. Lowe played the first ball and declared the lawns open for the season. Among those present were: Mesdames Lowe, St. Clair Inglis, Negus, Friar, Warren, Gardon, Garrard, Hutchinson, McGregor, Couttis, Coltman, Clarke, Day, Campbell, Cole, Burton, Meiklejohn, Wright, Russell, Ravenhall, Laslett (2), GiSby, Peate, White, Moodie, Horspool, King, Roberts, Browne, Porter, Diamond, and Miss Appleyard.
