HEAVY STOCKS ON HAND.

The National Council of Wool-selling Brokers of Australia lias issued figures showing that for the first three months of the 1934-5 wool season greasy realised an average price of £12 0/2 per bale, or O.ld per lb, and scoured .€l6 1/1, or 17.7c1. For the same period 0:37,7/7 bales have been received in stoics in the capital citicH. 10=1,320 bides thereof having; been sold, leaving a balance in store of /9J,448 bales. BRIGHT AUSTRALIAN SALES. SATISFACTORY CLEARANCES. (Received 10 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. At the wool sales 10,554 bales were offered, and satisfactory clearances made. The selection was better than last week. Competition was very animated, with a Strong'demand from Germany and Japan. The market for all wools was from par to 5 per cent dearer than the closing sales of last week. , . , MELBOURNE, this day. There was no further rise in wool prices when the sales resumed. The market, however, was strong at the improved levels established last week. More than 90 per cent of the 0000 bales offered was sold. Comeback sold to 15% d, Merino to 15d. PERTH, this day. A firmer tone for all grades, with better competition, was a feature of the wool 'sales. Main competition was from Bradford. QUIET IN BRADFORD. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, October 8. New Zealand: Market quiet with small business done. Fair grade for October-November shipment, £13. Eggs.—Market firmer. English, national pack, 15/6 to 19/6; English, ordinary pac';, 15/ to 10/6; Danish, 11/3 to 13/; Australian, 10/9 to 12/3; New Zealand, bjb. Rangitane just arrived. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co. have received the following cable from their London principals, Messrs. Trengrouse and Nathan, Tooley Street, dated October 8:— Butter: 68/ to 69/ per cwt. Cheese: White, 48/ per cwt; coloured, 48/6. Both markets quiet. WHOLESALE PRICE OF EGGS. There is no change in the wholesale price of eggs in Auckland, the following rates being quoted by leading distributors:—Hen: First quality, ll%d per dozen; B grade, 10% d; C grade, B%d, ,Duck: lO&d, 9%d end 3%d reapectwely.
