OTAHTJHU C.A. UMPIRES.
At the second annual meeting of the Ofhhuhu Umpires' Association, held last evening, the chairman. Mr. W. Beck, expressed great satisfaction -with the result of last season's -work, and congratulated members on the progress the game had made in Otahuhu since the promotion of the cricket association some three years ago. This, he contended, was in no small measure due to the efficient and firm ruling of the umpires. The balance-sheet showed a small credit balance, with no liabilities. During the season visits had been made by Messrs. TV. W. Luke and O. Montgomery, both members of the Auckland Umpires' Association, and much benefit had been derived through the interchange of ideas. . The election of officers resulted :—Chairman, Mr. TV. Beck: secretary-treasurer, Mr. J. L>. Harris; executive. Messrs. \V. Tucker. X. Fellding, and F. Nicholson. Several new members were welcomed, and it was decided to continue with last year's programme, when alternate Tuesday meetings would be open for cricketers for n discussion on rules and some of the decisions by umpires. TAUPIRI V. CLAUDELANDS. During the week-end Taupiri was defeated by a team from Claudelands by 07 runs, the visitors making 174 to the home team's 107. For Claudelands Mills made 51 (retired). Andrews 20. Macklow 22. Bowling : Miller took tlireo wickets for 0 runs, Rowter two for 13. For Taupiri Fowell made 34. Dyer 33. Bowling: Macklow took four wickets for 4 runs, Ewan four for S. GAME AT TE PUKE. During the week-end a cricket match was played at Te Puke, when United beat Wanderers by 47 runs. The former scored 143 ami 127, to 172 and 51 by Wanderers.
