GAS SHARES SELLING
Business, ox the Auckland Stock li.x change opened quietly this morning. witl jnost values assessed at the week-ent basis. Auckland Gas shares were in domain and sold Id better at £1 0/8, after whicl the market stood at £ 1 6/7 to £ 1 6/9. In Government stock the chief feature "was the easier trend in 4 per cent fovties There were sellers at £107 10/, but n< buyers. Insurances were again very firm, witl South British in request at £4 15/. ant holders asking 2/6 higher. Claude Neoi (Sydney) had their first local sale, a pur chaser securing a parcel _at £2 2/. aftei which quotations were from £2 I/O t< £2 3/0. Mining Shares Active. Mining shares were most active in tin "business at noon. Broken .Hill Proprietary Golconda, Mataki and Mahakipawa al being in good demand. In the insurance section A.P.A.'s wen asked for at 11/4, and Xew Zealand: closed between £3 0/- and £3 10/ aftei sales.
