HEALTHY TONE RULES. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHEISTCHURCH, this day. The market was quiet this morning, bu a healthy tone prevailed in spite of thi small sales list. Reported business ii Chvistchurch Gas contributing shares pro vided the highlight with a realisation o 16/9, which marked an advance of 1/' since the last sale on August 23. Dealings on 'Change were confined t< one banking issue, two parcels of brewer; shares and two parcels of Brian Bori Gold Dredging. h. Commercial Bank of Australia held thei closing rates of last week, and there wer further buyers at the' sales price, witl sellers Id higher. New South Wale looked firm, and the section aa a whol showed little change. Quotations for woollen interests wer Interesting, in that sellers of Dalgety' retired to £10 in answer to buyers at £ 5/6. leaving a wide margin and indicatini a very strong tone. For Goldsbrough jVTorts, buyers at £1 10/9 were too low b; 3d to do business. In the miscellaneous section a stronge buying offer for Amalgamated Wireles contributing issue at £1 9/6 failed t bring in a seller below £1 15/. New Zen land Paper Mills were in demand at firn levels, and Dunlop, Perdriau holders cam clown a few pence to 19/5, buyers stil being 3d below. Business in Brian Bori in the mining section was done at a frac tional rise. Mount Lyell had weake buyers but slightly stronger sellers, am most issues were unchanged.
