TOWN PLANNING
AUCKLAND ACTIVITIES
A preliminary general survey of possible sites for an Auckland airport, the development of the Domain, and questions dealing with local body reform and the Town Planning Act were included in the activities of the Auckland branch of the Town Planning Institute of New Zealand and referred to at the annual meeting yesterday. Mr. R. A. Lippiucott presided.
Appreciation was expressed of the work of the retiring chairman, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, the retiring vice-chairman, Mr. J. Tyler, .and the secretary-treasurer, Mr. Wilkinson, who was re-elected. Officers were elected as follows: —Chairman, Mr. E. V. Blake; vicerchairmau, Mr. Lippincott; committee, Miss A. Basten, Professor C. R. Knight, the Hon. T. Bloodworth, M.L.C., Messrs. N. Brinsden, Preston Chambers, K. Draffin, K. M. Qraham, C. K. Griersoh, G. M. Fowlds, W. H. Gummer, R. D. Hammond, F. Jarrett, G. T. Murray, C. E. Putt, H. E. Vaile, Grevillc Walker, R. P. Worley and E. D. Wilkinson; technical group, Messrs. Lippincott (chairman), Blake, Brinsden. Chambers, Grierson, Gummer, Hammond. Jarrett, Putt, Murray, Greville Walker. Worley and Professor Knight; secretarytreasurer, Mr. Wilkinson; auditor, Mr. W. J. A. Thomson. ■
