MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.

The Mount Roskill Road Board met last night, Mr. C. M. McCullough presiding. Mail Deliveries.—The acting Chief Postmaster, Air. J. McGiil, advised the board that all parcels posted to Mount Roskill would in future be sent to the Domiuion Road post office. Formerly those addressed to certain parts of the district were sent to Avondale, which was not easily accessible. House Numbers.—The board agreed to the suggestion received from the Mount Eden Borough Council that Landscape Road, instead of being described as east and west should be renumbered from eud to end, both authorities co-operating. Drainage.—The Mount Albert Borough Council suggested that an arrangement be entered between the two local bodies for the sewer services in the board's area to be extended from Hazel Avenue to enable property in Renfrew Avenue to be connected. The finance committee reported that the drainage connection could legally be made, and recommended its adoption under certain conditions, and the foreman meet the Mount Albert engineer to investigate the possibility of further extensions. The recommendation was adopted.

Raising of Salaries. —No action was taken in reply to a charge made by Mr. 0. J. Hamon that the salaries of certain employees had not been approved in a proper manner. The chairman said everything had been properly done and correctly recorded. If it could be proved otherwise he would resign from the board at once. Seymour Park.—Mr. J. Donald, chairman of the parks and reserves committee, reported that he, in company with Mr. Matthews, of the Auckland Domain Cricket Ground, and the foreman of works had inspected Seymour Park and the proposed cricket pitches, and had discussed the best method of dealing with the gtounds. With that end in view the board had adopted Mr. Donald's recommendations. Building Permits. —During the fortnight building permits to the value of £2060 were issued. Five of them were for new houses.
