CRICKET.
WESTERN SUBURBS ASSOCIATION. At the annual meeting of the Western Suburbs Cricket Association, the secretary reported that the season closed with 125 registered players, and that three new teams were likely to affiliate to bring the number to approximately 160. The balance-sheet showed the association's finances to be in a satisfactory condition, considering it was their first season. The president, Mr. TV. A. Bishop, forecasted a successful season. He asked clubs to use every endeavour to promote junior cricket in the district, and also to foster matches between schoolboy teams, with the provision for association coaches. He referred to the support given by Mr. E. Stallwortliy and members of the Auckland City and Suburban Association. Officers were elected as follow;— Patron, Mr. F. Norcross; president, Mr. W. A. Bishop; vice-presidents, Mr. G. Lawson, Dr. VVarnock, Dr. J. Aitken Paterson, Messrs. J. Routley,. Morriss, Mcßae, Miller; secre-tary-treasurer, Mr. L. V. Crutcher; deputychairman, Mr. A. J. Woolley; auditor, Mr. N. Cathie; selection committee, Messrs. Rosskelly, Withers and Punch.
