SPORTS TROPHIES

AUCKLAND PREMIERSHIP. A number of sporting trophies illustrative of the achievements of Auckland athletes aro at present being displayed in tho windows of Milne and Choyec, Ltd. Tho exhibition was arranged by Mr. F. W. Lucas, the former All Black. The trophies will be on exhibition until next week. They are: Ranfurly Shield, for the leading interprovincial Rugby team; Plunkct Shield, for interprovincial cricket; English Football Association Trophy, for interprovincial Association football; New Zealand Hockey Association Challenge; Shield, for iiiterprovincial hockey; and the Yaldhurst and War Memorial Shields, for senior and junior-inter-mediate interprovincial swimming respectively. Accompaying the trophies are interesting particulars of the history of the awards.
