STORE CATTLE
BIG SALE AT WELLSFORD. Just over 1500 head of store cattle wore sold at a record sale conducted by Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons at Wellsford yesterday.. Values were considerably in advance of prices realised for a number of years, and the sale recalled the boom period. It is expected that as a result of yesterday's sale between £0000 and £7000 will be distributed. At present there is a general shortage of feed, but this fact did not deter buyers, and from the outset the bidding was keen. The cattle will go to various country districts, and some to one of the islands in the Hauraki Gulf.
