The conditions under which the New Zealand team for the Empire Games was selected, and sent to London, were vigorously condemned during a discussion at the annual meeting o£ the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club. _ _ . The action of the authorities in Wellington in allowing the team only three weeks in London before the Games, dnd refusing T. G. Broadway permission to gc earlier at his own expense, was described as "stark lunacy , ' and "a ecandalous shame." . ■ , , , .
