TOBACCO AND BENZINE. FUGITIVES IN MOTOR CAR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) • ' WAIPUKURAU, this day. Thieves early this morning broke into Yates' cash stores through a skylight and took practically all the tobacco stock. They also entered W. Boyer's billiard saloon by a rear window, but' nothing was found to be missing. From a petrol pump outside Wells' garage 2o gallons were stolen, after removing a lock. It is understood that ! the suspicions of a night watchman were I aroused by this episode. The police, were advised and . at Takapau a. constable I stopped a southward-bound car. Two men who were travelling in it ran away. | CASH AND WHISKY. j THIEF'S HAUL IN BAR.' " (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CARTERTON, this day. The Lake Ferry Hotel at Palliser Bay was entered by burglars between sunset and 10.30 p.m. on Friday last. Entry to the bar was made through breaking a neat hole in the window and' turning tho catch. The thief took the contents of the till, £-3, and whisky, etc., amounting in valiie to about £7. The .police ar6 investigating!
