BEACH HAVEN CLUB.

The Beach Haven Amateur Cycling Club held a combined race of 13 3-5 miles, starting at Pohutukawa Avenue and ridiug to Pugh's farm and back. A trophv for this race was presented by Mr. H. Buer, of Ponsonby, and the result was certainly a triumph for the juniors, who filled the first three places. The winner was A. Venables (1.15), who wrested his victory from R. Elia (5.30), with R. Tout (5.30) a close-up third. This was a splendid finish to a good race, as Venables only won by inches, his time being 42.4. The next man in was S. Hilder (2.0), who just beat A. Elia (1.45). Elia registered fastest time in 40.8 1-5. B. Evans and Jack Culpan, the two virtual scratch men, both retired early in the race, Evans with a buckled wheel and Jack with a puncture. Next Saturday a 30-mile race will be j:held twice round the circuit then to I Aihmiy and back, comnifln fling &3Q.
