UPTON SINCLAIR'S OBJECTIVE,
SAN FRANCISCO, August 29.
The well-known author, Mr. Upton Sinclair, who formerly was a Socialist, has received the endorsement of the Democrats as candidate for the governorship of California at Tuesday's primary elections. His platform is to end poverty in California.
Mr. Sinclair will be opposed by the apparent choice of the Republicans, the Acting-Governor, Mr. Frank Merriam, at the November elections.
