Important Improvements on Indian Route. BEACONS ' EVERY 100 MILES. (Received 11.80 a.m.) CALCUTTA, August 20. Among tlie important developments in civil aviation in India will be the provision for night flying 011 the Cal-cutta-Karaehi route. There will be beacons at intervals of 100 miles. Most of the landing grounds have boundary lights and illuminated wind indicators. Pilots will always have one beacon and often two in view during night flying. The main aerodromes will be fully equipped witli floodlighting, while the projected improvements include new x aerodromes and larger hangars at Calcutta, Chittagong and Rangoon, and also meteorological observatories.
