PIANO STUDENTS.

CHOPIN 'CELLO SONATA. Members and friends enjoyed a very delightful programme of 'cello and piano music given on Tuesday evening by Dr. Trevor de Clive Lowe and Mr. Leo Whittaker. An outstanding feature was the Chopin 'cello sonata, the last published work of the great composer. This very beautiful composition, rarely heard, was given for the first time in Auckland. Other numbers were the Dohnanyi sonata and the " Variations Symphoniques " (Boellmann). Vocal solos, "A Birthday" (Huntingdon-Woodman), and "Rose Softly Blooming" (Spohr) were sung by Miss Julie Williams. Supper was served by the committee at the conclusion of the programme. Among those present were: Mesdames W. H. Parkes, J. T. F. Mitchell, Trevor Lean, L. Whittaker, Frith, Hewitt, Golden, Taylor (Suva), J. Hammond, J. S. Doull, Jaguseh, A. Parker, Walker, Ranston, Matthews, Misses G. Bertram, J. M. Parker, J. Uanston, G. Lorie, Davies, M. Jaguseh, M. Slade, J. Fogerty, A. Walker, E. Nops, B. Pelham, E. Blackburn, Matthews (2), P.
