JUMP FROM TRUCK.
WOMAN'S SEVERE INJURIES
FRIGHT CAUSED BY FLAMES,

WARK WORTH, this day.
Serious injuries were suffered by Mr?. M. Sunde, of Dargaville, as the result of an accident which occurred last evening when Mrs. Sunde was being driven to Dargaville by her brother-in-law, Mr. T. Sunde.
As the motor truck in which they were travelling was anout to stop at the. Warkworth Hotel flames and smoke caused by the fusing of a cable issued from the bottom of the cab, so alarming Mrs. Sunde that she jumped out before the vehicle hnd come to a standstill. She fell to the kerb, but failed to clear the vehicle, both her feet being caught by the rear inside wheel, by which she was dragged a considerable distance, When the woman was extricated it was found that both her feet were severely torn and crushed, her shoes being literally torn to shreds.
Dr. R. V. Shaw was summoned, and the woman, after receiving attention at the hotel, was removed to the Warkworth Hospital. It was stated this morning that Mrs. Sunde had passed a good night, and that she would be transferred to the Te Kopuru Hospital.
