DELUGE AT GREYMOUTH.

COAST ROAD CLOSED,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, this day. Four inches of rain fell during the 12 hours ending nine o'clock this morning. Low-lying part 6of Greymouth arc under water, but no serious damage is reported. Owing to the collapse of the- Dirty Mary's Creek Bridge, near Addison's, the Grey-Westport coast road is closed, probably for a week. Washouts have occurred on the railway line between Greymouth and Omoto, but it is expected that the line will be clear late this afternoon. The miners' train was delayed for 40 minutes at Greymouth this morning, metal on the line.sat the Tainui Street crossing preventing the engine coming from "its shed. The train reached Rnnanga after some Dunollie miners had pone home. It was decided not to work Rewanui to-day.
