ROTARY £2000 GIFT.
FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN.
SOCIETY IN MANAWATU.
(By Telegraph.—Pross Association.) PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. The sum of £2000 has been subscribed by the Palinerston North Rotary Club toward the establishment of a crippled children's society in Manawatu. This money, donated by means of an insurance schemo, will bo placed in trust on behalf of the society. The president, Mr. W. G. Black, stated that 20 members of the Rotary Club had agreed to insure their livo* for £100_each. These 20 policies would be deposited with the club, which had an available reserve of £2000, or half the total sum aimed at. This generous action, which demonstrated tha reality of Rotary's interest, would also encourage the public to assist in furnishing the remainder of the sum required. About 50 children would benefit immediately activities commenced. The club placed on record its approval of the action of the 20 donorj.
