TRIPLE TRAGEDY.
Three Royal Air Force Pilots
Killed.
FOURTH FLYER'S ESCAPE

RUGBY, June 25
Three R.A.F. flying officers, C. R. L. Shaw, J. Dorroch and G. P. Hill, were killed when two instructional machines from the Bristol Flying School collided over Yate, near Bristol. The! fourth occupant, Flying-Officer Ken-, jumped with a parachute aud alighted in a pond, receiving only slight injuries. One of the dead officers also jumped out, but the machines were not sufficiently high to allow his parachute to act effectively.
MASSED FLIGHT. Japanese NavAl 'Planes May Go To Mandated Islands. ITALY AND U.S.A. EMULATED. (Received 10 a.m.) TOKYO, June 25. Referring to rumours of a massed flight of Navy 'planes to the mandated islands, the Navy spokesman said that such was contemplated but not finally decided upon. He added that Italian and American seaplanes had made lengthy flights, and it might be advisable for Japan to do likewise.
FAMOUS PILOT DEAD. James Weddell Crashes in U.S.A. CENTENARY RACE CONTENDER. NEW ORLEANS, June 25. James Weddell, famous air pilot, and ono of the leading American entrants for the Centenary air race to Melbourne, was killed instantly, when an aeroplane, in which he was flying with a pupil, went into a tailspin. The pilot lost control and crashed from an altitude of 300 ft. The pupif was gravely injured.
