THE DOMAIN.
Why all this pother about a new road in the Domain? The matter ought to be settled once for all by the fact that the City Council lias no right to use the general property of the citizens at the citizens' expense to provide amenities for a small and often undesirable section of them. Who are these motorists that special roads should be made for them? The citizens of Auckland should accept at once the offer of gates for their demesne, with, natty side gates for Mr. and Mrs. Cit, when they want an hour or so free from the roaring terror of the motor. Except on ceremonial occasions, the large gates of hammered iron should bo kept securely locked, so that if the motor-owning upper classes wish to share the quiet joys of the Domain they should do it as too many are compelled to now—"on their uppers," or "nearly. * RUS IN UKBE.
