Jlr. F. H. Miles, of Wellington, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. A. C. Allum returned from the South by the Limited this morning. Sir Geo. Fowlds returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. C. G. Macindoe .leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-morrow night. Mr. E. W. Alison returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. AV. G. K. Wright, of Wellington, has been appointed a local director ot the Phoenix Assurance Company. Sir. A. Grayson, president of the Automobile Association, leaves for the South by the Limited to-morrow night. Captain R. C. Hammond, manager of the Northern Steamship Company, leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-morrow night. Mr. F. W. Schramm, M.P. for Auckland East, and Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P. for Marsden, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Dr. Athol Parkes, son of the late Dr. W. H. Parkes, C.8.8., C.M.G., and Mrs. Parkes, of Auckland, has passed the primary examination for the London F.R.C.S. Mr. D. Ardell, of the Internal Affairs Department, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning to meet Miss Jean Batten, who is arriving from Sydney on Monday. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Albert Russell left by the express last evening to address meetings in the Ilawke's Bay, Taranaki and Wellington provinces, and in tlie South Island, on behalf of the New Zealand Producers and United Kingdom Manufacturers' Reciprocal Trade Federation. Mr. J. M. A. Ilott, New Zealand governor nominee of Rotary, who is attending the Rotary . Congress of governors nominee and the international convention at Detroit, will return to New Zealand by the Aorangi, arriving at Auckland from Vancouver on August C.
