SUVA APPOINTMENT.
MR. R. R. KII>I> FAREWELLED. Notification of the appointment ot Mr. R. R. Kidd to the position of chief health inspector to the municipality of Suva has been received at Auckland. He has had wide experience in works of sanitation, and in addition to other qualifications holds the diploma of the Royal Sanitary Institute for practical sanitary science, is an associate member of the Institute of Sanitary Engineers of London, and a past member of tlie Royal Institute of Public Health. Mr. Kidd has for some years past lectured to classes on sanitation and plumbing in the sanitary engineering department of the Auckland Technical College, and was until recently borough inspector to the New Lynn Council, where the sewerage scheme and water supply system were under his control. Friend's gathered to farewell Mr. Kidd at the Hotel Auckland on Friday evening, those present including Mr. _G, Lawson, Mayor of New Lynn, Mr. Reich, town clerk to Mount Roskill, and Mr. H. Paull, chief sanitary inspector for Auckland. Mr. Kidd sails for Suva by the Aorangi on Tuesday next.
