PAPATOETOE SOCIAL COMMITTEE Organised by the St. John's Presbyterian ladies' social committee, Papatoetoe, an enjoyable At Home was held on Thursday afternoon in the St. John's Hall, Great South Road. The hall was tastefully decorated with hydrangeas and early spring flowers. Mrs. J. McFarland and Miss R. Ross received the guests, while Mrs. T. H. Roseveare was in the chair. The programme for the afternoon included an interesting address given by Lady Wilson, who described her visit to Oberammagau, and items were rendered by Mrs. Ross and Miss R. Burnside (piano duet), Mrs. S. McLcnnan and Miss M. Wilson (vocal duet), Mrs. Pool (elocutionary items), and Mrs. Palmer (vocal solos), while Mrs. J. Valentine acted as accompanistc. The stallholders in the fancy goods and cake stalls were Mesdames W. Wilson, McCullough, Hunter, Misses F. Hamilton, E. Runciman, and M. Crawford, while the afternoon tea was arranged by Mrs. J. Knight, Misses Wiles, J. McLeod, B. Wyllie, and R. G. Ross.
